Hi and welcome to my page! This is my 12th year teaching at Brauchle Elementary. Since I will be spending so much time with your little ones this year, I thought you would like to know a little about me.
I am the product of a Northside education. I attended Ed Cody Elementary, E.M. Pease Middle School, and William Howard Taft High School. I then attended the Honors Program at UTSA where I graduated in December 2005 with a Bachelor’s degree in Interdisciplinary Studies and a minor in Psychology. In 2006, I taught 1st grade here at Brauchle and was awarded the honor of First Year Educator of the Year. In 2007, I began teaching kindergarten and fell in love with it. In February 2016 I was honored as Brauchle's Educator of the Year and went on to win the Trinity Award for Excellence in Education for our region that April. I feel so blessed to have been able to receive this honor and to have an opportunity to draw attention to the importance of early childhood in developing a lifelong love of learning.
Besides being a teacher, I am a mother to an incredible 15year old boy named Stephen. I also have a beautiful 7 year old daughter named Mia Gabrielle. Since I am a mother, I realize what a tremendous privilege it is to be a part of your child’s life each day! In my spare time, I enjoy going to my son's basketball games, games, the coast, and the pool (really anything involving sun + water!), playing with my dog Ava, reading, writing, and spending time with my family and friends.
